MOTOR Names Jed Hanson as New Executive Chef
MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant, located on the Harley-Davidson Museum® campus, is excited to announce that Jed Hanson has been promoted to the role of executive chef. In his new role, Hanson will be responsible for menu development and execution for MOTOR.
A believer in made-from-scratch comfort food, Hanson will oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations for MOTOR, in addition to the H-D Museum™ campus, which includes specialty and private events. Hanson brings more than 12 years of culinary experience to his new position, with the past three and a half spent as the executive sous chef at MOTOR.
“MOTOR has been my home for almost four years now and I am thrilled to continue my journey here as executive chef,” said Jed Hanson. “We have a passionate and talented team at MOTOR and I can’t wait to introduce Milwaukee to some new flavors in the years to come.”
Hanson’s influence in the kitchen can already be seen in new menu items ranging from dry-rubbed wings and smoked tri-tip to a chicken avocado club and cheesecake brûlée.
Originally from Milwaukee, Hanson attended Milwaukee Area Technical College, where he earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts.
After graduation, Hanson joined Hotel Metro as its sous chef and later supported restaurant launches at both Marcus Theatres and iPic Theaters.
“Chef Jed’s local experience, in combination with his overall creativity in the kitchen, will be a major asset to the restaurant,” said Dave Kash, director of operations for MOTOR. “We’re glad to have a skilled chef like him at the helm and know diners will feel the same way.”
In the future, Hanson looks forward to experimenting with seasonal menus and taking on a larger role with private events at the H-D Museum. When he’s not in the kitchen, he can be found working on home improvement projects and spending time with family.
