MOTOR™ takes diners on a culinary road trip of great American food and drink from its location in downtown Milwaukee. Guests can enjoy burgers, BBQ, peach cobbler, seasonal favorites and a whole lot more.
Jed Hanson is the executive chef at MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant, located on the Harley-Davidson Museum® campus. A Milwaukee native, Chef Hanson started in the kitchen at a young age, often helping his mom prepare classic dishes with a comfort food twist and later discovering a love for sauces.
From there, Chef Hanson developed a passion for cooking and went on to earn an associate’s degree in culinary arts from Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC).
Upon completion of his studies, Chef Hanson accepted a position with Hotel Metro as its sous chef. Seeking to further sharpen his culinary skills, Chef Hanson moved into senior roles with Marcus Theatres and iPic Theaters, where he helped launch restaurants at both entertainment centers.
After nearly four years as the executive sous chef at MOTOR, Chef Hanson was named executive chef in September of 2018. As part of this role, he leads menu development and day-to-day kitchen operations, in addition to food services for the entire Museum campus, which includes specialty and private events.
Outside of the kitchen, Chef Hanson enjoys working on home improvement projects, spending time with family or satisfying his sweet tooth with ice cream, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or Swedish Fish.
